Duane Scott

I live in the City of Port Clinton, Ohio, which is situated on the Western Basin Shores of Lake Erie. A City where many patrons' of the Arts live and visit.

My love of woodworking and the study of different woods, wood properties and beautiful colors, began some 50 years ago.

As a young man my profession was a Home Building Contractor and Cabinet maker. Having worked with woods all my working life, I started woodturning as a Hobby upon retirement. The turning of an object from a solid chunk of wood wasn't satisfying to me, and I started to Design and build turning forms from pieces of different species and colors of woods. ( Segmented turnings ) now the Artistic thoughts came to life. I design, cut engineered pieces, ( hundreds of pieces ) then glue into a turning blank and then turn into objects of Art, ( vases, bowls, urns, ect.) and now I have mastered the ability to construct Artistic Sculptures, These can boggle your mind with their beauty and how it is accomplished.

I have turnings in local Gallery's, ( Split Winds Gallery--Port Clinton, Oh. ) , ( Jody Mc Callum &

Company Art Gallery --Marblehead, Oh)  I have shown in Art Shows in Columbus, Ohio, and surrounding Cities.

I am a member of  Segmented Woodturners, American Association of Woodworkers, Ohio Designers Craftsman Association
